On May 3, 2017, the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) Measure E Citizens鈥� Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) had a sneak peek at one of the two new classroom buildings currently under construction at American High School when it held its monthly meeting at the campus. The $18 million project will provide a two-story building featuring four science labs and eight general classrooms, and six additional science labs in a second two-story building for a total of 36,723 additional square feet of classroom space.

鈥淭his is one of three new classroom addition projects in the American High School attendance area,鈥� said John Chwastyk, FUSD Director of Facilities and Construction. 鈥淭he other two projects are at Brookvale and Patterson Elementary schools, with each getting a new eight-classroom building.

The buildings are constructed with energy efficient material and mechanical systems designed to provide optimal health and learning environments for students. 聽The project team is a collaborative effort between AV集中营, SVA Architects, Roebbelen, and Project Frog.
