CALLING ALL GOLFERS!!

Registration is NOW OPEN for the AV��Ӫ.’s 8th Annual Golf Tournament on October 6th, 2023 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, CA. Once again, we will be playing for Lazarex Cancer Foundation and helping to give end-stage cancer patients another chance at life through FDA clinical trials.

Early registration for the tournament is open until September 8th, 2023 – This tournament fills up quickly so register early!

Rodan Celebrates National Construction Safety Week!

Rodan spent the week of May 3-7, 2021 celebrating safety on the job site. The reminder to BE PRESENT, BE FOCUSED, and BE SAFE while working was the message for each and everyone working on our project sites. The risk of injury is always present on a construction site and helping our crew members to stay mentally and physically present while working allows them to keep safety the main focus. Tailgate meetings focusing on being present and aware of your surroundings while working were the center of discussions this week. After a week of ensuring every team member worked safely a celebration was in order with BBQs and giveaways at many of our sites. It was a great week and everyone returning home safely at the end of the week is always our goal! To learn more about National Construction Safety Week please visit .

Our work at Centerville Middle School continues!!

Our work at Centerville Middle School continues!! With Rodan completing Phases 1 and 2, we are happy to have been awarded Phase 3, Increment 1 of the Centerville Middle School Transformation project. This is a ground up construction of a new two-story classroom building housing (20) classrooms, the installation of (4) new modular buildings, new expanded drop-off zone with parking, storage space for emergency supplies, expansion of the playfields with new hardcourts and field repairs, and new central quad. Contract amount is $56,431,514. Wowza!

River Rafting Trip-2018

AV��Ӫ had a successful day of river rafting fun on the American River. This is an annual event where people from the company, friends, and family come together to enjoy the sunshine and create ever-lasting memories.

Looks like one of Rodan’s members is “riding the bull” in order to stay in control as they pass through the wild waves.

But his grip wasn’t strong enough to keep him from going under.

Luckily, the waters began to calm as our team’s rafts approached the end of the river.

Another Successful Golf Tournament

On May 12, AV��Ӫ held out third annual at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco and we would like to thank all our partners, clients, friends, and family for coming out to make the event so successful. In addition to a day of relaxation and fun, we also worked with the Lazarex Cancer Foundation – with all net proceeds donated towards the organization.

Led by Karen Goldman-Giammona, the Rodan Family was happy to help and bring everyone together for a fun day of golf.

Several Rodan team members, golfers, and golf angels at the end of the day – the picture was taken at the taco stand and chili pepper stand.

After the event, participants and friends were invited to dinner along with an auction and raffle drawings. Auction prizes include San Francisco Ballet Tickets, SF Giants Tickets, and a trip to Hawaii. Raffle drawings had the grand prize of a BBQ grill.

Bond Oversight Committee Tours American High School

On May 3, 2017, the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) Measure E Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) had a sneak peek at one of the two new classroom buildings currently under construction at American High School when it held its monthly meeting at the campus. The $18 million project will provide a two-story building featuring four science labs and eight general classrooms, and six additional science labs in a second two-story building for a total of 36,723 additional square feet of classroom space.

“This is one of three new classroom addition projects in the American High School attendance area,” said John Chwastyk, FUSD Director of Facilities and Construction. “The other two projects are at Brookvale and Patterson Elementary schools, with each getting a new eight-classroom building.

The buildings are constructed with energy efficient material and mechanical systems designed to provide optimal health and learning environments for students. The project team is a collaborative effort between AV��Ӫ, SVA Architects, Roebbelen, and Project Frog.

San Jose Airport International Lobby Opens

San Jose Airport opens it’s new international lobby today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. AV��Ӫ along with architects Gensler and Jacobs worked on this project, which aims to create an an expansive lobby for the ever growing number of international passengers.

Procore Groundbreak 2017

Last week, two of our team members Keith and Jackie attended the Procore Groundbreak Conference in Texas. Procore is a construction management software that our company utilizes in a majority of or projects. The goal of this software is to have easy accessibility for our project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and most importantly our clients. Keith and Jackie’s time in Texas at the conference has given them valuable information and training that they can pass along to the rest of the company so the program can better be utilized.

Rodan To Attend 2017 ASC Competition

AV��Ӫ will be attending the 2017 ASC (Associated Schools of Competition) Student Competition hosted in Sparks, Nevada from February 08 – 11. For those unfamiliar with the competition, below is a quick overview of what the attendees will be experiencing (from the ASC website)

“Each team will be presented with problem statement materials generated by the team sponsor. These materials represent the entire problem statement and scope of work. Questions, if any, may only be directed to the problem sponsor judges. It shall be the discretion of the judges whether a response is given to any question.

Each team must strictly adhere to the specific time frames, deadlines, schedules, locations or conditions set forth in the problem. Failure to follow any of these may be cause for rejection, reduction in points or even disqualification from the competition”

Rodan is proud to sponsor this competition as it is a great way for students to take on real life challenges that will help them transition from college into their professional career. One of our interns, Greg Merrill (pictured bottom right), was part of the CSU Chico team that won 1st place in the commercial competition in the 2016 edition.

Rodan Awarded Albany Middle School Annex Project

AV��Ӫ has been awarded the 10.8 million dollar Albany Middle School Annex project. Our partner on this design-built project is SVA Architects, who will serve as the Architect of Record. Both companies have worked together on more than five design-projects with amazing success on all of them, we look forward to continuing this tradition. Construction is expected to start in late summer of 2017 and will last approximately one year.

Chico State Carpenters Apprentice Program

Chico State’s in a partnership with the Carpenter’s Union will be offering a Carpenter Intern/Apprentice program for students within the Construction Management Program. This will be the second year of the program and it is a great opportunity for students to get direct hands-on field experience in the construction industry. Participants within this program will register with the Carpenter’s Union and receive instructions and classes at the training facility located in Fairfield. Once completed, students will be dispatched to various project sites throughout the Bay Area. AV��Ӫ is proud to participate in this program as we believe it is a great way for students to experience the construction industry outside of the classroom. Last summer, we had our very first carpenter intern who was out on the field working directly with a superintendent.

Physics Classes Visit Irvington High Schools’s New 12 Classroom Building

More than 162 Irvington High School students took their learning out into the field when their physics teacher Henry Fung arranged for five classes to visit the construction site of 12-classroom building where AV��Ӫ has teamed up with SVA Architects, and Project Frog.

Rodan Completes Renovation To Historic Faculty Club at UC Berkely

AV��Ӫ just completed phase 2 work on the historic Men’s Faculty Club at UC Berkeley, and has started the final phase.

The goal for this project was to renovate both the interior and exterior of the building, while preserving its historic look as if no work had been done at all. It was a challenge to preserve the buildings historic look while replacing major structural supports, windows, custom architectural peace’s, and 100 year old wood gutters.

There were many other piece’s to this project which added to its difficulty, including a tight schedule, strict time frame at which we could work, as the building was in use during construction. The Faculty is a very popular place to hold events, seminars, and weddings. There is a hotel, rooms for rent for events, a full bar and kitchen that could not be disturbed. Rodan has been able to complete our work with minimal disturbances to the Faculty Clubs daily routine.

Rodan Awarded Sterile Corridor between Gates 17 and 18 At San Jose International Airport

Rodan will be building the new Sterile Corridor between Gates 17 and 18 at SJIA. The purpose of this project is to allow gates 17 and 18 to be used for additional incoming international flights. The corridor will serve as a route for incoming passengers into the customs area where they will be cleared before officially entering into the United States. Project value ~ $850,000

AV��Ӫ awarded potential 22.5 mil project with UC Berkeley

In December 2013 AV��Ӫ was awarded a job order contract with UC Berkeley for 7.5 million with a potential of a 15 million 2 year extension. Scope of work will primary consist of interior lab renovations at various buildings within the campus. Work to start in March 2014.
